2013-02-15 — /travelprnews.com/ — It’s that time of year again when couples treat each other to a little extra romance, but it’s not just love that will be in the air today. For one of Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s (JLA) biggest operators, this means a surge in bookings as passengers take advantage of some great value for money flights and jetting off with the added convenience of flying from their local airport.
easyJet operate to 30 destinations from JLA and top of their list of busiest destinations tomorrow is Belfast, with up to six departures throughout the day giving passengers the flexibility to travel both for a day trip or for longer on a flight that takes just 50 minutes. Second favourite is Geneva, which is popular as a gateway to a host of top ski resorts as well as a romantic city break destination. This is closely followed by Amsterdam, renowned for its canals and nightlife, Madrid and Lanzarote.
Robin Tudor, JLA’s Head or PR commented, “Some people like to treat their other halves with a surprise meal out, but clearly many are taking advantage of the convenience of flying from Liverpool to some great destinations for a romantic day trip or a short city break and at fares that for many, aren’t likely to have cost much more than a meal at a top restaurant.”
Ali Gayward, Commercial Manager for easyJet, said: “Love is in the air at Liverpool John Lennon Airport as hundreds of couples will start a romantic weekend getaway with easyJet. Looking at the top five destinations for Valentines its clear people are staying close to home or going much further afield – with Belfast and Canary Islands proving extremely popular.”
