(PRESS RELEASE) WARSAW, Poland, 2026-Mar-30 — /Travel PR News/ — LOT Polish Airlines has expanded its European network with the launch of three new direct routes from Kraków Airport, connecting the city with Rome, Barcelona, and Madrid. The new services, which began operating on 30 March 2026, will run year-round and further strengthen Krakow’s position as a key regional aviation hub.

The addition of these routes significantly enhances travel options for passengers in the Małopolska region, providing direct access to major cultural and economic centres in Southern and Western Europe. The new connections cater to both leisure travellers seeking Mediterranean destinations and business passengers requiring efficient links to key European markets.

Robert Ludera, Chief Commercial Officer of LOT Polish Airlines, emphasized the importance of Krakow within the airline’s network, highlighting its role as both a major tourist destination and a growing business centre. He noted that the introduction of these routes builds on existing connecting services and represents a strategic step in expanding the airline’s regional presence.

All three routes are designed to operate with high frequency. Flights between Krakow and Rome will run up to five times weekly during the summer season and up to four times in winter. The Barcelona route will operate up to four times per week year-round, while the Madrid connection will be offered as frequently as six times weekly throughout the year.

Łukasz Strutyński, Chief Executive Officer of Kraków Airport, highlighted the rapid growth of the airline’s presence at the airport, noting a 44% increase in activity. He pointed out that the expansion not only introduces popular leisure destinations but also strengthens domestic and international connectivity, contributing to regional economic development and improved mobility.

During the 2026 summer season, LOT Polish Airlines plans to operate flights from Krakow to up to 11 destinations, supported by the addition of a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. This expansion is expected to enhance the airline’s operational scale and improve the availability of flights across its network.

Passengers travelling on these routes will benefit from the airline’s onboard experience, which includes carry-on baggage allowance, modern cabin interiors, and seating designed for comfort. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft feature updated cabin designs inspired by Polish aesthetics, reinforcing the airline’s brand identity.

With these new routes, LOT Polish Airlines continues to strengthen its footprint in Central and Eastern Europe, improving connectivity, supporting tourism and business travel, and enhancing Krakow’s role as a strategic gateway in the region.
