LOT Polish Airlines’ brand new Embraer ERJ-190 aircraft launched the first direct flight between Budapest and London City Airport
BUDAPEST, Hungary, 2019-Feb-19 — /Travel PR News/ — LOT Polish Airlines made history this morning (2019.02.18), as its brand new Embraer ERJ-190 aircraft launched the first direct flight between Budapest and London City Airport. The service will commute six days a week, on a total of twelve occasions (morning-evening) between the Hungarian capital and the financial center of London.
In the early morning hours, the Embraer ERJ-190 aircraft of LOT Polish Airlines took off for the first time from Budapest, to make the 2 hour 13 minute journey to the heart of London, to London City Airport. The flight is not only recommended for business travelers, although the schedule is ideal for them, as the morning flight delivers passengers to the financial and economic center of the British capital. Moreover, the aircraft returns to Budapest in the evening, landing at 23:00 hours.
The first flight elicited a great deal of media attention; a large delegation of journalists were among the passengers. London is the most popular destination from Budapest by far; six carriers provided services to five airports (Heathrow, Luton, Stansted, Gatwick and London-Southend) so far. LOT Polish Airlines has now entered the fray with its flight to London City Airport, the advantage of which is that it saves the one-and-a-half hour trip into the city.
“I am sure that LOT’s new flight to London City will quickly become popular with the traveling public, as it is a very spectacular and convenient way to arrive in the British capital,” said Balázs Bogáts, head of airline development for Budapest Airport. “The two flights per day fit in very well with the schedules of business travelers, who can thus undertake several meetings in a single day in the City and return to Budapest in the evening. Conversely, British businessmen can arrive in Budapest at 12:45 and return to London at 17:15.”
