2013-04-15 — /travelprnews.com/ — Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) is delighted to announce the arrival of a new service at the Airport aimed at helping passengers navigate their way through the terminal, helping them to take advantage of the great facilities on site following recent improvements.
LJLA is the latest airport in the UK to feature Google Indoor Maps. This gives users the opportunity to open Google Maps on their Android mobile phone, zoom in to the location they are in here at the Airport and then an indoor terminal building floor plan magically appears. This application will even show passengers where they are on the map with a familiar blue dot if they have enabled the My Location feature.
Passengers already enjoy a hassle free environment at Liverpool John Lennon Airport with few queues and an easy to get through terminal building. Getting lost at JLA is rare, however this new Google Indoor Map will now also help passengers find their way to many of the new retailers and passenger facilities at the Airport following the recent £12m terminal improvements.
All three levels of the terminal building have been mapped in this way giving practical help too, by indicating the nearest toilets, ATM machines and the Information Desk. The system can even provide directions to show passengers how to get from their current location to where they want to go to – even if they are on a completely different floor.
Danny Pritchard from LJLA, commented: “Even though surveys show 97% passenger satisfaction levels, we are always looking at ways to enhance the passenger experience here at JLA. This Google Indoor Map application will help to make it even easier for our passengers to locate a particular bar, retailer, restaurant, coffee shop or perhaps the premium lounge.”
