2013-07-05 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Big Bang Yorkshire & Humber is part of a series events held annually across the UK which seek to celebrate the achievements of young people in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM), ultimately inspiring them to follow careers in these rewarding fields. The event provides young people with the opportunity to participate in ‘hands on’ STEM activities. A select number of projects from The Big Bang Yorkshire and Humber will be nominated to represent their region at the National Science & Engineering Competition which is held at The Big Bang in March 2014. Over 80 schools attended, with more than 2000 students and over 100 businesses involved in the event.
Richard Aldridge of Leeds Bradford Airport said: “As Yorkshire’s Gateway Airport we are proud to sponsor and promote initiatives which celebrate the achievements of pupils who are interested in being involved in the science, technology and engineering. These industries form a large part of operating an airport environment across a range of disciplines.”
