2013-07-24 — /travelprnews.com/ — Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) has been awarded the prestigious national ‘Safe Parking’ award for the eighth consecutive year in recognition of its high standards of on-site parking facilities. This highly regarded industry scheme aims to reduce crime whilst increasing safety and security within parking facilities around the country.
Run by Park Mark, an Association of Chief Police Officers initiative it is also supported by the Home Office and British Parking Association. To receive this accolade the parking facilities must provide good access control, safe entries and exits and comprehensive CCTV coverage.
The award was received by Leeds Bradford Airport’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Sophie Brown and car park team member Kuldip Mudhar who has worked at the airport for 15 years.
Sophie Brown, LBA’s Chief Financial Officer, said: “As Yorkshire’s gateway airport we are delighted to have been awarded the Safe Parking award once again. We are committed to offering the very best on-site parking facilities with easy access to the terminal. We recognise the importance of leaving cars in a secure place and are proud to be part of a scheme that promotes this.”
Phil Taylor the North Eastern Area Manager for the Scheme said: “The Leeds Bradford Airport car parks were very recently awarded Safer Parking status again having reached the standards set by the scheme. The Airport car parks have held this status since 2005. You just need to look around the car parks to see the things which make it such a good example. The boundaries, lighting, vehicle layout and signage are clear for all their customers to see. The car parks are always clean and tidy and these together with exemplary management practices ensure they are safe and offer a great experience for the thousands of visitors which flood to the car parks annually. The management are dedicated to making the car parking experience a pleasure for every customer.”
Further information regarding on-site airport parking can be found at www.leedsbradfordairport.co.uk/parking. Prices for an eight day stay start from just £40.
