Late Surge in UK Bookings Indicates Big Opportunity for Agents, Says Leading UK Operator

Lowestoft, U.K., 2012-08-24 — /travelprnews.com/ — The UK continues to offer significant opportunities for travel agents during the peak season, according to the UK’s largest self-catering holiday company Hoseasons.

Hoseasons has reported strong demand during the first three weeks of the school summer holidays, with the UK specialist also adding more than 10 percent extra capacity to its flagship Lodges & Parks programme, bringing the total on sale to over 20,000 units.

This news is backed up by Thomas Cook Co-operative Travel, the leading retailer of UK holidays and Britain’s biggest multi-channel travel retailer.  Managing Director, Joanna Wild said, “Interest in UK holidays with Hoseasons has been very strong since the schools broke up.  In fact, we’ve seen a spike in interest for both overseas and UK breaks, especially since the Olympics.”

“But what this surge in interest for last minute UK holidays really shows is that there’s still an opportunity for agents to build peak season business, even as we approach the end of the season,” she continued.

Helping agents take advantage of this opportunity is the priority for Hoseasons said Managing Director, Pali Badwal. “We have added around 2,000 extra units to help meet this late surge for UK bookings,” he commented.  “We know how important it is to offer a full range of holidays ranging from luxury lodges to tucked-away cottages, from boats in the Norfolk Broads to all-singing caravan parks.”

“The ability to offer the right holiday to suit all types of customers at great value for money is key to meeting this demand, and our team of travel trade sales executives are working flat out to build awareness amongst agents about what is on offer, and to support them in promoting the UK to take advantage of this opportunity.”
