Korean Air’s SKYPASS Members to Transform Seoul’s Mullae Park with Second Green SKYPASS Initiative

Omok Park in Seoul, supported by Korean Air’s first Green SKYPASS project

(IN SHORT) Korean Air’s second Green SKYPASS initiative will convert Mullae Park in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, into a landscaped public space by October 2025. SKYPASS members can support the project by redeeming miles for award flights or buying Korean Air merchandise through Mileage Mall’s KE Design Store. The program builds on the 2022 Omok Park transformation, which engaged over 2,000 members and 40 employees in tree planting. This latest effort underscores the airline’s commitment to urban greening, improved air quality, and climate change mitigation through loyalty-member collaboration and local partnerships.

(PRESS RELEASE) SEOUL, 2025-Jun-23 — /Travel PR News/ — Korean Air has unveiled the second phase of its “Green SKYPASS” program, this time transforming Mullae Park in Seoul’s Yeongdeungpo District into a vibrant urban oasis. In collaboration with local authorities, the project will revitalize underutilized parkland and is slated for completion by October 2025.

Under the Green SKYPASS scheme, members of the airline’s loyalty program can contribute by converting their SKYPASS miles into project funding—either through award-flight redemptions or by purchasing branded items at the KE Design Store within Mileage Mall. These contributions directly support landscaping, tree planting, and the installation of seating and walkways to foster community engagement and enhance air quality.

This follows the success of the inaugural Green SKYPASS initiative in 2022, when over 2,000 SKYPASS members joined forces with Korean Air staff to establish a green rest area in Omok Park. That effort saw more than 40 employees participate in tree-planting activities, creating a tranquil retreat for local residents.

With this second Green SKYPASS project, Korean Air reiterates its pledge to partner with its loyalty community and municipal governments to expand urban green spaces, promote cleaner air, and contribute to climate action across its home city.
