KOREAN AIR RECEIVES WORLD TRAVEL AWARDS 2012 ASIA’S LEADING AIRLINE FIRST CLASS

2012-10-24 — /travelprnews.com/ — Korean Air received the prestigious accolade of being voted Asia’s Leading Airline First Class at The World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia Ceremony 2012, held in Singapore on October 18th.

Founded in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry, the World Travel Awards are recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire.

The award was received by Mr. Lee Hyung Koo, Korean Air regional manager for the Singapore Office who commented: “Korean Air is honoured to be recognised for the efforts we have made in ensuring our First Class customers are provided with the highest quality service. Korean Air’s dedication to providing a superior in-flight experience for each and every passenger is also reflected in its on board dining offerings. While flying First Class, travellers will be treated to gourmet dishes prepared exclusively for the airline using high-quality organic ingredients to create carefully selected western, Chinese and Japanese menus in addition to a traditional Korean menu. Each meal is served with a choice of top-quality wines.

In-flight entertainment is also an area in which Korean Air excels and new this year is the introduction of a state-of-the-art AVOD (Audio Video On Demand) service on its A380 superjumbos and B777-200ER aircraft. This system provides those travelling on long haul flights, a plethora of entertaining programmes and applications operated by a touchscreen display.

Other premium offerings that add to the overall premium customer experience include a superb First Class lounge at Korean Air’s hub airport, Incheon International, in Seoul and a special KAL premium care personnel service.

Korean Air’s service has been recognised worldwide on several occasions, including being named the World’s Most Innovative Airline at The World Travel Awards Grand Final Ceremony held last year in Doha, Qatar.
