Seoul, South Korea, 2023-Sep-26 — /Travel PR News/ — On September 22, a total of 40 Korean Air employees and members from the airline’s catering and duty free service partner, Korean Air CND Services, volunteered at a local senior center near the airline’s headquarters in Gangseo, Seoul ahead of Chuseok, the mid-autumn harvest festival.
The volunteers cooked and served traditional holiday dishes, and shared homemade holiday treats with the elderly at Gangseo Senior Center. Inflight chefs prepared traditional Korean dishes such as Bulgogi, three-colored pancakes, beef japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) onsite for more than 500 elderly residents in the neighborhood. The volunteer group also handed out snacks such as sticky rice cakes, Korean honey cookies and sweet rice drinks as gifts.
Korean Air reaches out to the community every Chuseok and Lunar New Year to celebrate the nation’s biggest holidays together. Last year in September, Korean Air delivered Chuseok packages of traditional holiday sweets to 250 families in Gangseo. Since 2004, the airline has been delivering bags of rice to the local communities.
