Washington, DC, 2014-7-24 — /Travel PR News/ — Jill and Paul Kirwin contributed $5,000 to the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AH&LEF) 2014 Annual Giving Campaign. The Annual Giving Campaign is the Foundation’s yearly key fundraiser that supports its core missions, including providing scholarships to hospitality management students, funding important research in areas such as room tax, energy management, and ADA requirements, as well as promoting hospitality as a career of choice and workforce development initiatives.
Paul, who is president/CEO of Northcott Hospitality, is an active member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA), serving on the board of directors and CEO Council. Additionally, he serves on AH&LEF’s board of trustees. A long-time supporter of AH&LEF, Paul has donated to the Annual Giving Campaign for the past seven years. This is his third gift at the six-diamond donor level.
“Jill and I welcome the opportunity to support the educational and career aspirations of our next generation of leaders through the AH&LEF’s Annual Giving Campaign,” said Kirwin.
“We are grateful to Paul and Jill for their continued support in funding programs that promote the industry’s future growth,” said AH&LEF President/CFO Joori Jeon. “We need more industry leaders like the Kirwins who understand that their financial contributions ensure the future of our industry.”
AH&LEF is the not-for-profit affiliate of AH&LA and is funded solely by charitable donations from progressive hospitality leaders and companies within the industry. In 2013, AH&LEF disbursed over $1 million to prepare promising college students for a career in hospitality, to attract and retain talented industry professionals, and to fund valuable research for lodging properties. Since the Foundation’s inception, approximately $18.5 million has been distributed through its scholarship, education, outreach, and research programs.
