Jet Box convenience style store opens at The Eastern Iowa Airport

Cedar Rapids, IA, 2015-8-3 — /Travel PR News/ — Convenience and options are at the core of what passengers want while waiting to board their planes. The Eastern Iowa Airport is responding by adding the Jet Box to the B concourse for their newest boarding gate. The Jet Box is a convenience style store that will offer grab and go options of sandwiches, snacks, drinks, and alcoholic beverages as well as counter tables with plug in options for electronics.

“Enhancing the customer experience is a high priority for us,” said Marty Lenss, Airport Director. “This gate serves our largest aircraft and had no convenient options to purchase food and drinks. In partnership with our concession vendor, SSP America, we were able to find a solution that provides the items passengers’ desire. In addition, the new space adds much needed seating that offers charging stations.”

The airport currently has The Millstream Brewhouse, a full service bar and restaurant, in the C concourse as well as the Cedar Landing, a gift shop with snacks and coffee. Before security passengers have the option of the Tic Toc Restaurant and the Sam Adams Pub, both serve freshly made, local foods.

This addition is the beginning of a plan to strategically assess and develop a concession plan for post security that adds additional services and amenities. As the airport expands and addresses its growing passenger numbers, they will continue to bring more options, stronger services, and improve the customer experience overall.
