Tokyo, Japan, 2020-Feb-07 — /Travel PR News/ — Japan Airlines (JAL) and Amadeus IT Group SA today (February 06, 2020) agreed to develop and integrate the carrier`s NDC1 contents through the Amadeus Travel Platform.
By adopting the NDC standard, travel professionals will have visual access to the carrier`s products, including high resolution images and video content, during the reservation process. Through this agreement, JAL will enrich the booking experience for travel professionals by showcasing the carrier`s award-winning seat products and newly revamped airport lounges in Japan.
In addition, through the realization of this project, JAL plans to introduce MaaS4 platforms, allowing customers to use various modes of transportation in a stress-free, one-stop manner.
During the first quarter of fiscal year 2020, the carrier will work with an online travel content aggregator, TRAVELFUSION, providing access to select travel professionals. In the following phases, JAL will provide NDC based contents through other aggregators, opening up the service to additional travel professionals utilizing GDS services.
Going forward, JAL will proactively incorporate new technology to become one of the world’s most preferred and valued airlines.

4 Mobility as a Service – ICT used to cloud traffic, used for all modes of transportation regardless of the operating entity
