Inside Emirates’ Multi-Billion-Dirham Plan to Create a New Home for Its Cabin Crew

(NEWS) DUBAI, UAE, 2026-Jan-21 — /Travel PR News/ — Emirates Airline has confirmed plans for a new purpose-built Cabin Crew Village in Dubai, marking a multi-billion-dirham investment aimed at supporting the airline’s expanding workforce. Based on details shared in the company’s official announcement, Emirates has signed an agreement with Dubai Investments Park (DIP) to acquire land for a large-scale residential and lifestyle development designed to house up to 12,000 cabin crew members.

The project, to be delivered under a long-term lease arrangement, is scheduled to break ground in the second quarter of 2026, with the first phase expected to be completed in 2029. The development will comprise of 20 contemporary residential buildings, each rising 19 floors, and offering a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments tailored to the needs of cabin crew.

Beyond housing, the planned Cabin Crew Village is positioned as a fully integrated community. Official materials indicate the development will include a central multi-purpose hub with retail outlets, restaurants and food concepts, alongside fitness facilities, clinics, landscaped parks and communal spaces. Outdoor amenities such as walking trails, resort-style pools and green areas are intended to encourage an active lifestyle, while each residential building will feature its own dedicated facilities for added convenience.

Strategically, the site has been selected for its location between Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central, aligning with Emirates’ long-term operational plans and its future transition to Al Maktoum International Airport. Based on information released by Emirates, the project is designed not only to enhance crew wellbeing but also to support the airline’s continued growth in the coming years.

Dubai Investments Park, one of the UAE’s largest mixed-use developments, will host the project. According to official statements, the collaboration reflects DIP’s positioning as a hub for large-scale, future-oriented developments, while reinforcing Dubai’s broader ambitions as a global centre for business, aviation and long-term investment.
