Indianapolis International Airport ranked as the top U.S. domestic airport in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards

Award based on responses from more than 300,000 travelers

Indianapolis, 2017-Oct-21 — /Travel PR News/ — The Indianapolis International Airport (IND) has been ranked as the top domestic airport in the U.S. for the fourth year in a row in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards.

Rankings were determined based on input from more than 300,000 readers who shared their travel experiences through online surveys. Those surveys rated hotels, resorts, and airports. The responses showed that IND consistently exceeded travelers’ expectations.

“The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious distinction in the travel industry, and to win the top spot for the fourth year in a row emphatically underscores the world-class customer service the Indy airport staff consistently strives to provide,” said Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority.

Earlier this year, the Indy airport also was named the Best Airport in North America for a sixth year from Airports Council International North America, and the MIT Airport Connectivity Quality Index report recently ranked the Indy airport fifth in the nation as the most-connected midsize airport. Travel + Leisure Magazine recognized the airport for a second year as one of the top 10 best domestic airports, and J.D. Power ranked the Indy airport among the best medium airports for passenger satisfaction.

The Condé Nast news comes just days after the Indy airport announced it is on track to set a new passenger record for 2017, with connectivity to a near-record number of nonstop destinations across the United States.

“With record passenger volume, we have the advantage of gathering a lot of input, and adjusting our operations in a way that enhances the airport’s value to the traveling public and the city,” said Rodriguez.
