Indiana Office of Tourism Development: Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann named Noelle Szydlyk the director of the Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay

INDIANAPOLIS, 2015-2-10 — /Travel PR News/ — Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann today named Noelle Szydlyk the director of the Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay. Before assuming her new position, Szydlyk spent 16 years at the Indiana Sports Corp (ISC) in various capacities. Most recently, she was senior director of event operations and was lead director for ISC’s aquatic events. Additionally, Szydlyk provided oversight of game/meet operations for the 2014 Big Ten Football Championship Game. She was also special events manager for the 2001 World Police & Fire Games, which included a torch relay through 72 cities in the United States. Szydlyk starts today and will serve in her new capacity through December 2016.

Developed by the Indiana Office of Tourism Development (IOTD), the Bicentennial Torch Relay is patterned after the Olympic Torch Relay. The torch relay route was charted by a committee of representatives from multiple state agencies and the private sector; including the state departments of transportation, natural resources, state police, tourism, community and rural affairs and state archives. The Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay will touch each of Indiana’s 92 counties on a 2,300 mile journey across the state in the fall of 2016.
