INDIANAPOLIS – 2012-12-18 — /travelprnews.com/ — On Dec. 12, airport-based employees and nearby residents need look no farther than the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) to free up space in basements, garages, attics, and other storage areas. In partnership with RecycleForce, a local, nonprofit recycling services organization, the Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) is hosting Electronics Recycling Day (see attached list for acceptable items).

From 7 – 10 a.m. and from 2 – 5 p.m., the items may be dropped off for recycling at the Employee Parking Lot, which is adjacent to the airport’s Cell Phone Lot. From I-70 take Exit 68. Follow blue road signs for the Cell Phone Lot. The Employee Lot is just south of the Cell Phone Lot at the intersection of W. Perimeter and S. Service roads.

Indiana has an electronic waste law that prohibits disposal of certain electronic devices in landfills in Indiana.

“The IAA Electronics Recycling Day offers a great opportunity to responsibly dispose of surplus and obsolete electronic equipment,” said Tim Method, environmental director for the IAA. “We welcome IAA employees, employees of our business partners that work at or near the airport, and the general public.”

At all such events, RecycleForce requests a donation for accepting certain items:
$5 (monitor); $10 (TV); $20 (refrigerant item).
