Incheon, Korea, 2015-2-17 — /Travel PR News/ — Incheon International Airport has won the highest scores in two categories of the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey, an annual passenger satisfaction survey organized by the only worldwide association of 1,860 airports, the Airports Council International (ACI).
On February16, ACI announced the results of the ASQ survey collected from face-to-face interviews with 550,000 international passengers at airports around the world during 2014.
Having recorded the highest scores in the categories of ‘Best Airport in Asia-Pacific’ and ‘Best Airport—Over 40 million passengers’, Incheon Airport has maintained its reputation of being the best airport by region as well as by size for ten consecutive years. The outcome by size is especially meaningful in that it is the result of fierce competition against leading airports in the new category of more than 40 million passengers, namely Changi Airport of Singapore and Beijing Capital International Airport.

Incheon Airport’s winning of the ASQ award for 10th year is praised as a valuable outcome of maintaining the best service quality through close cooperation and communication of various parties, despite the difficulties of saturated facilities due to Incheon’s annual passenger exceeding 45 million mark for the first time in 2014.
In winning the ASQ award, President & CEO of Incheon International Airport Corporation, Park Wan-su commented, “Incheon Airport started small as an airport in Northeast Asia no one took notice of, but achieved big with the miraculous record of being named the world’s leading service airport for ten years in a row. I am humbled and thankful for the efforts and contribution of the 40,000 Incheon Airport employees.”
He also added that “Incheon Airport staff will continue the qualitative and quantitative development, backed by the support of the government and the public, making Incheon Airport not only the bona fide global hub airport, but also the best airport in service as well as in all sectors of airport operations.” The ASQ Award ceremony is to take place on April 28, during the ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly, Conference and Exhibition in Jordan. Incheon Airport became No.1 for ASQ in 2005, only four years after its opening in 2001 and maintained the lead for many years, becoming the top brand of Republic of Korea. In 2011, it wasthe first airport to be recognized as a member of the ‘Roll of Excellence’ program, which is the accolade for the most outstanding airport that upgraded the service level of airports around the world.
Incheon Airport’s remarkable achievement was possible by close cooperation of various stakeholders. 40,000 employees and 900 institutions built an organic collaboration and communication system toward a common goal of the world’s best service, creating synergy by sharing information, experience, and know-hows.
Instead of maintaining its status quo of being No. 1 in service quality for ten consecutive years, Incheon International Airport is preparing for its new leap forward, gaining the concrete upper hand in the competition among neighboring airports.
For starters, to solidify its position as the hub airport of Northeast Asia, Incheon Airport plans to implement various measures to increase the number of transfer passengers, hosting some 10 million transfer passengers by 2017. Also, to respond to the increasing passenger demand and gain the competitive edge in terminal size and facilities, Incheon Airport will complete its third-phase construction by 2017, including the second passenger terminal with cutting-edge technologies as well as ecological and cultural elements. With the completion of the third-phase construction, Incheon Airport will have the foundation for global mega-hub airport, with its annual passenger capacity having increased from the current 44 to 62 million.
