2013-03-21 — /travelprnews.com/ — In the summer of 2013 Brussels Airport will be connected to 191 passenger destinations served by 63 airlines.
For the whole 2013 summer season from 31 March to 27 October over 115,000 passenger flights are scheduled, offering nearly 17 million seats.
The average number of seats offered per flight increases from 141 seats in the summer season 2012 to 147 in the summer of 2013.
The top five best-served destinations from Brussels Airport this summer are Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Geneva, Copenhagen and Munich, in that order.
The five best-served long-haul destinations are Newark and New York/JFK (14x per week), Washington (12x), Montreal (10x) and Abu Dhabi (8x).
Six airlines are launching new routes:
Biarritz is an entirely new destination for Brussels Airport.
On the long-haul routes Qatar Airways and Brussels Airlines (Africa) are increasing their frequencies.
Jet Airways, THAI International Airways and United Airlines (Chicago) will be using larger planes.
On intra-European routes, frequencies are increased by Austrian Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Egyptair, Turkish Airlines and Ukraine International amongst others.
Both Jetairfly and Thomas Cook Airlines continue to increase frequencies on leisure destinations and are offering more nonstop flights.
