Iberia launches new flights from Spain to Ghana

It starts flying from Madrid to Accra today July 18, with two weekly flights, on Wednesdays and Saturdays

Iberia offers easy connections from Madrid airport to almost 100 destinations in Europe and the Americas

Madrid, 2012-07-23 — /travelprnews.com/ — Iberia launches new flights from Spain to Ghana. From today July 18, the Spanish airline operates two weekly direct flights between Madrid and Accra, becoming the sole carrier with non-stop service connecting Spain and Ghana.

The new route reflects increasing European investment in Ghana, one of Africa’s fastest-growing countries, as well as a significant interest of European tourists in the area; Iberia’s new route will also facilitate travel options of Ghanaians living in Europe – many of them, in Spain -. Flights are timed for easy connections to and from Iberia’s nearly 100 destinations in Spain, Europe and the Americas.

Iberia operates a 122-seat Airbus A-319 on the route, equipped with the new Business Club cabin. This 14-seat Business Club section has two seats on each side, and 1.27 metres of separation between rows. The extra-large, 55-cm-wide seats are of completely new design, with adjustable backs, head rests (four positions), leg rests and foot rests. Business Club passengers are given an exclusive toilet kit of new design and can use a soft pillow and matching double-sided blanket.

The Business Club meal service features original main dishes created by four of the main Spanish chefs, all of them with four stars Michelin. A selection of Spain’s most exquisite regional wines is also offered to business passengers.

Iberia flights to Ghana strengthen Iberia’s position in Africa. Currently it flies to Algiers and Oran in Algeria, Casablanca, Marrakech, Rabat, and Tangier in Morocco, Dakar (Senegal), Cairo (Egypt), Lagos (Nigeria), Luanda (Angola) and Malabo (Equatorial Guinea). It has just added Nouakchott to the list, with two weekly flights, from last July 12. Under code-shares with other airlines it reaches another 11 African destinations.
