Golf Packages Offered at Many Hyatt Resorts in the U.S.

CHICAGO, 2013-04-15 — /travelprnews.com/ — Hyatt Hotels & Resorts announced today that five PGA Tour golfers, Luke Guthrie, Lee Williams, Jeff Klauk, Joey Snyder and Brandt Jobe, will represent Hyatt this season on the PGA Tour. These five golfers will participate in personal appearances at Hyatt corporate and social events as well as ‘meet and greets’ for Hyatt guests at PGA Tour stops throughout 2013. Carefully selected by Hyatt for their spirit both on and off the course, and for their commitment to their craft, all five golfers embody Hyatt’s values and will be great representatives of the brand during this year’s golf season.

“We consider these five golfers as Hyatt colleagues who represent our brand through the game of golf,” said John Wallis, global head of marketing and brand strategy, Hyatt Hotels Corporation. “As a hospitality company, we are passionate about making guests’ experiences with us the very best they can be, and these golfers also demonstrate a similar level of care, spirit, and dedication to their profession. We respect their view of sportsmanship and the commitment they’ve made to take care of our customers when they are on the course together.”

Meet the Pros

Luke Guthrie finished the 2012 season ranked #2 on the Web.com Tour Money List and is a 2013 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year favorite. Guthrie finished third in the Honda Classic earlier this year, and in 2012, he was the champion of the Web.com Tour WNB Midland Classic and the Web.com Tour Albertsons Boise Open. Guthrie was also a runner up at the 2012 Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational. Guthrie, a multiple All-American at the University of Illinois, had three top-20 finishes in his first three starts on the PGA Tour in 2012, and six top-10 finishes in his first seven starts on the Web.com Tour in 2012.  Among other honors, the 23-year old Guthrie is one of only nine players in history to earn a PGA Tour card straight from college without attending PGA Tour Q-School (joining the list that includes Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson).

“I look forward to building a long-term relationship with such an iconic hospitality brand. Traveling around the world for golf will allow me to experience firsthand and share the exceptional level of customer service with Hyatt guests and golf fans alike,” said Guthrie.

Lee Williams claimed the Web.com Tour Mexico Open Championship, presented by Banamex, in 2012. Williams also completed four top-10 finishes in 2012, and 15 top-35 finishes on the Web.com Tour. In addition, Williams has played in three U.S. Open tournaments and is a two-time Walker Cup Member (2005, 2003). In 2005, Williams was awarded the U.S. Pro Golf Tour Player of the Year Award.

“Hyatt has always been a world-class hotel company,” said Williams. “I am pleased to represent it on and off the course and look forward to interacting with Hyatt guests around the world.”

Jeff Klauk remarkably started the PGA Tour in 2013, after undergoing brain surgery to help ease his struggle with epilepsy.  In 2009, Klauk was a finalist for PGA Tour Rookie of the Year Honors, and finished #71 on the PGA Tour Money list the same year. Klauk has two victories and five runner-up finishes on the Web.com Tour in his career, and is a two-time NCAA Division II National Champion.

“Hyatt has provided me with a great opportunity this season,” said Klauk.  “I am excited about my play this year and look forward to interacting with not only fans of golf, and also experiencing the authentic hospitality of Hyatt hotels and resorts as well.”

Joey Snyder earned his PGA Tour card in 2005 through the PGA Tour Qualifying School. That year, Snyder had a best finish of 4th at the PGA Tour Farm Bureau Classic, and earned a #74 rank on the PGA Tour money list. In 2006, Snyder suffered a neck and shoulder injury that resulted in a long-term medical leave of absence until last year, when Snyder returned to the tour and tied for ninth at the PGA Tour Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic. Snyder is a two-time Arizona State University, All-American selection.

“Being healthy again and back on the tour are goals I’ve been very focused on and have been working for. And now that I’m able to serve as a Hyatt ambassador too, I couldn’t be in a better place both personally and professionally,” said Snyder.

Brandt Jobe won membership to the PGA Tour in 1991, and in 1994, Jobe won the Thailand Open, establishing himself on the Japan Golf Tour where he played from 1995 through 1999 taking home six tournament wins. Jobe returned to the PGA Tour and played steadily despite a freak accident, which resulted in hand and wrist surgery in 2003. Since then, in 2011, Jobe achieved his best finish for six years when he tied for second at the Memorial Tournament, one stroke behind Steve Stricker.

“I am so excited to represent Hyatt this year, and welcome the opportunity to meet and play with guests and fans around the country,” said Jobe.
