Spanning 53,000 square feet, the facility is expected to open in early 2027 and will play a central role in SKYTOPIA’s broader Art Ecosystem, which aims to support Hong Kong’s development as a global hub for art trading. The project forms part of a larger Airport City vision that integrates art, luxury, and marine leisure developments, including future plans for a major marina and additional waterfront attractions. The initiative is expected to attract international collectors, investors, and visitors while enhancing the airport’s role as a multifaceted destination.
(PRESS RELEASE) HONG KONG, 2026-Mar-18 — /Travel PR News/ — Airport Authority Hong Kong has entered into an agreement with Eythos to operate the SKYTOPIA Art & Valuables Storage Facility, marking a key step in the transformation of Hong Kong International Airport into a broader Airport City under the SKYTOPIA development vision.
The dedicated facility, covering approximately 53,000 square feet, is designed to provide specialised services for the storage and handling of art and high-value assets. Located within a standalone two-storey building in the airport’s non-restricted zone, the site will offer museum-grade storage conditions along with private viewing rooms for collectors and clients. Operations are expected to begin in early 2027.
Vivian Cheung, Chief Executive Officer of Airport Authority Hong Kong, described the facility as a central element of SKYTOPIA’s emerging Art Ecosystem. This ecosystem will incorporate art storage, appreciation, and trading activities, with the broader aim of strengthening Hong Kong’s position as a global centre for art commerce. She noted that the initiative is expected to create synergies with other high-end developments within SKYTOPIA, including a yacht bay, luxury hotels, a business aviation centre, and exhibition venues such as AsiaWorld-Expo, helping to attract international investors, visitors, and cultural stakeholders.
SKYTOPIA is envisioned as a multifaceted destination that combines art, entertainment, marine leisure, and cultural experiences. By leveraging Hong Kong’s geographic advantages and integrating land and waterfront developments, the project aims to enhance the appeal of the airport area as a global hub for both travellers and local communities.
Following the launch of the Art & Valuables Storage Facility, Airport Authority Hong Kong plans to advance additional components of the SKYTOPIA project. Later in the year, the authority will initiate an expression of interest process for water-focused developments, including plans for the largest marina in Hong Kong. These projects are expected to support a wide range of yachting and marine leisure activities, further positioning SKYTOPIA as a regional hub for maritime lifestyle experiences and reinforcing its status as a world-class waterfront destination.
Eythos brings significant expertise to the project as a specialised operator in art storage and logistics, with facilities in Hong Kong and Seoul. The company has built a strong reputation in the sector, having served as an official logistics partner for major international art events such as Art Basel Hong Kong, and continues to demonstrate growth within the high-value asset management industry.
