(PRESS RELEASE) McLEAN, Va., 2025-Jan-30 — /Travel PR News/ — Hilton has marked a landmark year in 2024, with record-breaking growth in both room signings and construction starts, positioning the company for continued expansion in the years to come. Hilton added 973 hotels and nearly 100,000 rooms in 2024, achieving net unit growth of 7.3%, the largest increase in the company’s 100-year history. In addition, the company signed over 1,430 new hotel deals, accounting for 154,000 rooms, bringing its development pipeline to approximately 3,600 hotels and more than 498,500 rooms, an 8% increase in pipeline rooms from the previous year.

The company’s momentum was further strengthened by a record-breaking 88,500 rooms under construction in 2024, excluding acquisitions and partnerships, marking the highest level of construction starts in Hilton’s history. With nearly one in five hotel rooms under construction globally slated to join Hilton’s portfolio, the company continues to lead the industry in new developments.

Hilton President and CEO Chris Nassetta commented, “We’re incredibly proud of our growth in 2024, which was driven by the strength of our brands and the dedication of our team to deliver exceptional stays for guests and strong returns for our owners. With our commercial engines, a diverse portfolio, and a robust global network, we remain optimistic about continued growth. We’re confident in our expectations for net unit growth of 6-7% in 2025.”

Hilton’s impressive growth trajectory is backed by a series of key milestones in both new locations and market segments. The addition of lifestyle brands Graduate by Hilton and NoMad in 2024 expanded Hilton’s presence in university communities and luxury markets globally. Furthermore, Hilton’s exclusive partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) added hundreds of luxury hotels to its portfolio, bolstering its status as a leader in the luxury segment. Hilton’s luxury brands, which include Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts, and Signia by Hilton, now encompass over 500 properties worldwide, with major openings planned for 2025 in locations such as New York, Costa Rica, and Morocco.

Hilton also made strides in the premium economy and long-stay segments. Spark by Hilton, which launched in 2023, has already surpassed 100 trading hotels, with plans for further expansion in markets around the world. LivSmart Studios by Hilton, a long-stay brand, will open its first hotel in Kokomo, Indiana, in 2025, with additional properties in various stages of development.

Kevin Jacobs, CFO and President of Global Development at Hilton, emphasized, “Our strategic, diversified development approach continues to drive robust growth, and with nearly half a million rooms in our pipeline, we are well-positioned for sustained expansion in 2025 and beyond.”

Hilton now operates over 8,400 properties across 140 countries and territories, having entered new markets in 2024, including Paraguay, Nepal, and Bonaire. The company also welcomed a record 224 million guests to its properties in 2024, marking its highest guest volume to date.

Hilton’s continued momentum signals a promising future, with new openings and expansions on the horizon in 2025. For more information on Hilton’s exciting upcoming projects, visit here.
