A Heathrow spokesperson said:

‘We are sorry to inform passengers that due to the anticipated landfall of a significant coastal storm on the east coast of the US, there are cancellations to flights departing to and arriving from US airports on the east coast including: New York – JFK, Newark – EWR, Boston – BOS, Washington D.C. – IAD and Philadelphia – PHL.

‘Heathrow advises that all passengers due to fly to the US on Monday 29 October should check the status of their flight with their airline before travelling to the airport.’

There have been 59 cancellations today. 47 departures and 12 arrivals.
