1.6 million passengers are expected to travel through ATL during the Labor Day travel period
ATLANTA, GA, 2022-Sep-01 — /Travel PR News/ — In preparation for Labor Day weekend travel, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) officials are providing tips and reminders for passengers traveling through ATL for the holiday weekend. More than 1.6 million passengers are expected to travel to, from, or through Hartsfield-Jackson beginning Thursday, Sept. 1 to Tuesday, Sept. 6. Airport projections indicate Friday, Sept. 2 as the busiest day, with a little more than 300,000 passengers expected in ATL.
“We look forward to hosting travelers as we close out a successful summer travel season,” said ATL General Manager Balram “B” Bheodari. “To ensure a smooth experience, we want to remind our passengers to visit ATL.com and monitor our social media for the latest travel tips and information.”
Passengers should arrive in the Airport at least two hours prior to their departure time. Airport officials also encourage all passengers to thoroughly inspect their luggage and belongings prior to arriving at the Airport to ensure they are not brining any prohibited items through the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoint. As a reminder, all firearms and ammunition must be properly packaged and placed in checked bags. To remain compliant with TSA regulations, visit the “What Can I Bring?” page on TSA.gov for more detailed information.
The Airport’s website (www.ATL.com) provides real-time updates on parking availability, security wait times, and concessionaire offerings. The Airport’s social media channels (@ATLairport) are a valuable resource for visitors as well. Passengers are also urged to monitor the website and social media channels of their specific airlines.
