Halifax, N.S., 2014-8-29 — /Travel PR News/ — Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) has taken steps to ensure the availability of gasoline on its site, after recent notification from the owners of the Petro-Canada outlet (Suncor Energy Inc.) that they will close the station at Halifax Stanfield on Tuesday, September 2, 2014.
“I am pleased to announce that we have signed an agreement with Irving Oil. Irving is installing a temporary station on Goudey Drive, just past the Petro-Canada Bell Boulevard site” says HIAA President & CEO Joyce Carter.
The Irving site will offer three grades of gasoline; a fully stocked convenience store; commercial card program; pay-at-the-pump technology; Air Miles Reward Miles; and 24/7 operations.
“We are targeting September 2, 2014 as the operational date for this facility”,” adds Carter. “The Airport Authority’s objective is to ensure uninterrupted, on-site availability of gasoline for our thousands of daily passengers and visitors, taxi and limousine operators, as well as for our on-site rental car operators.”
“These circumstances provide the Airport Authority with an opportunity to significantly upgrade our gas station/convenience store offering,” notes Carter. “HIAA will now pursue a long-term, permanent arrangement with a gas station/convenience store operator as part of our commercial development.”
