London, 2014-5-2 — /Travel PR News/ — The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) – the voice of the global business travel industry – today announced the formation and launch of four formal European committees for the industry across Aviation, Hotel, Meetings and Technology. The committees will be comprised of experienced GBTA members who wish to share their knowledge to improve levels of competence within the industry through the creation of toolkits, RFPs, white papers, templates, webinars and educational content. The newly launched committees are led by the following senior industry professionals:
“On behalf of the global organization, I would like to welcome these new committees to GBTA and thank the committee members in advance for their time and efforts,” said Donna Kelliher, GBTA President and CEO. “I have seen the immense value that committees deliver to GBTA members and the wider industry, and I look forward to seeing this same impact from our new committees in Europe.”
“I am delighted that we will now be tapping into the extensive experience and knowledge of our members in Europe,” said Catherine McGavock, GBTA’s Regional Director – EMEA. “The calibre of applications we have received for committee membership has been outstanding and I look forward to seeing the value that these committees will create not only for our members in Europe but also globally.”
GBTA has established a global liaison role in each North American committee to ensure communication and best practices are shared and work products optimized for all GBTA members.
GBTA will also soon be announcing the launch of its Risk committee for Europe. The association is now calling on industry professionals who are interested in participating in any of the GBTA European committees to contact GBTA at enquiries@gbta.org.
