Event takes place in Houston, Texas

Alexandria, VA, 2013-04-17 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA)—the voice of the global business travel industry—today announced that it will host the first ever USA  Oil, Gas & Marine Travel Symposium, in Houston, Texas.  This event has been very successful in Europe since it first launched in 2011. The GBTA USA Oil, Gas & Marine Travel Symposium will be held on November 5-6, 2013 at the conference facilities of energy company BP in Houston, Texas.

With more than 100 oil, gas and marine professionals expected and corporate buyers from some of the biggest energy and shipping companies in the world, this event will be a highlight of the calendar for anyone in this sector in the USA or beyond.

The event will feature several senior industry buyers from this sector who will also form the event’s steering committee.  These members include Donna Headley, Global Travel Manager for Chevron, Jeannie Eisenhart, Senior Manager, Corporate Travel & Meetings for Crowley Maritime Corporation and Lisa Stanford, Procurement Manager / Global Airline Program for BP.

The hosting of the event by BP follows a similar move by GBTA Europe to host their European Oil, Gas & Marine Travel Symposium at the corporate buyer offices of AP Moller Maersk in Copenhagen in October 2013. GBTA also plans to host events this year across the sector in Perth, Australia; Rio, Brazil; Calgary, Canada; Copenhagen, Denmark, and Cape Town, South Africa.

GBTA’s Vice President of Operations USA, Liz Huh, said about the event, “We have felt a lot of momentum for the need for such an event in the United States and the home of BP in Houston is just the perfect location for our inaugural U.S. symposium for this sector.  We are grateful to BP for their support.”

The GBTA USA Oil, Gas & Marine Travel Symposium expects to attract more than 100 delegates. Registration is now open but with capacity limited, professionals are invited to register online for this event.
