London, 2012-11-15 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) — the voice of the global business travel industry— today announced the appointment of three new volunteers to its European Advisory Board.

The three new advisors are all travel buyers from across Europe.

  • Mr. Rüdiger Bruss is Global Category Manager Travel & Mobility for Continental AG, based in Germany.
  • Ms. Mette Christensen is Global Head of Travel and Related Activities for A.P. Moller – Maersk A/S, based in Denmark.
  • Mr. Hervé Krotoff is Global Commodity Director of Travel & Long Term Car Rental for Schneider Electric, based in France.

Talking about the appointments, Torbjorn Erling, GBTA Europe’s advisory board chairman and the Global Meetings and Travel Manager for Ikea, said, “I am delighted to welcome such a distinguished and broad panel of buyers to our advisory board. We were looking for a diverse set of buyers from different business sectors and geography.  With the increasing success of our oil, gas and marine program it’s great that we will now have a buyer from that sector on our board, but it’s also important that we have senior representation from Germany and France too.”

The new Regional Advisors will join Mr. Erling and existing fellow advisory board members, Mr. Michael Tangney, Travel & Expenses Manager for Google; Mr. Torsten Kriedt, Vice President for BCD Travel; and, Mr. Kieran Hartwell, Senior Vice President – Global sales & Service for RADIUS.

Each of the advisors will complete a two year initial term, with a remit to advise GBTA on its membership expansion, education and training delivery, research and events in Europe.
