Frankfurt, 2014-6-5 — /Travel PR News/ — Friendly helpers at Frankfurt Airport: Starting immediately, passengers can book a new escort service called “My Airport Guide”. Specially trained employees meet passengers—for example, at the long-distance train station—and go with them to the check-in counter while taking care of their luggage. They then accompany the passengers through the security check and, if wished, all the way to the gate. The guides are also available to assist passengers arriving by air (both those whose final destination is Frankfurt and transit passengers) when this personal service is wished. They can escort travelers to a lounge or help them obtain tax refunds.
The service can be booked until 48 hours before passengers arrive at Frankfurt Airport. There are two versions. The “Welcome Service” collects departing passengers at the taxi stand or the regional train station and accompanies them to the check-in counter. Passengers arriving by air are met at the baggage carousel and taken to a train or taxi. The “Welcome Service” costs 30 euros for two persons. The other version, called the “Guide Service”, also takes passengers through the security checks all the way to the gate or vice versa. It can be booked for two persons, including luggage handling, for 60 euros. The guides all speak German and English. For an additional fee, escorts competent in other languages—Arabic, Mandarin, or Russian, for example—are also available.
Booking requests can be e-mailed to myairportguide@frasec.de.
The “My Airport Guide” service is part of the “Great to have you here!” service program that Frankfurt Airport launched to implement countless improvements designed to make it even more pleasant for passengers to depart, arrive, and change planes at Germany’s largest airport. In 2013, Frankfurt Airport welcomed more than 57 million passengers.
