Costa Rica, Central America, 2019-Apr-03 — /Travel PR News/ — Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo has appointed Arnaud Dieutegard as Spa Director and Heriberto “Beto” Peña as Health and Wellness Ambassador of the newly re-imagined spa and wellness centre at the luxury resort located on the 1,400-acre (565 hectare) Peninsula Papagayo on the north Pacific coast of Costa Rica. As Spa Director, Dieutegard will guide the spa’s transformative guest experience and oversee day-to-day operations of the indoor-outdoor destination spa that reopened in November 2018 following a complete transformation. As Health and Wellness Ambassador, Peña will guide the Resort’s fitness programming and wellness initiatives including Breathing and Sound Healing Work Shop, Yoga and longevity lifestyle retreats, High Intensities indoor and outdoor training, and develop a line of local Ayurveda-inspired spa products with Costa Rican organic and wild-crafted resources.
“As we continue to elevate our spa and wellness program, putting this premier team in place will help us build upon the great momentum that was established with the recent opening of our transformed spa and fitness centre,” says General Manager Michael Mestraud. “Arnaud has demonstrated his incredible ability to guide innovative spa operations for the Four Seasons brand and we are excited for Beto to raise the bar on our fitness classes and create new wellness programming for our guests in his new ambassador role.”
A spa professional with more than 10 years of experience directing Four Seasons spas, Dieutegard previously held positions including Spa Manager at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea; Spa Director and Spa Assistant Manager at Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora; and Spa Therapist at the former Four Seasons resort in Provence. Dieutegard holds a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese Herbology from the Université Nice Sophia Antipolis and certificates in Ayurveda Medicine and Practitioner from An French Ayurveda Academy and Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the International Acupuncture Training Center in Beijing, China and has mastered the art of Shiatsu treatments. A French native, Dieutegard also taught massage, beauty and spa treatments at the Elegance International Academy for Spa and Beauty in Nice. In his free time, Dieutegard enjoys exploring nature, cultivating his passion for sustainability and DJing his favourite tunes.
Peña’s career as the dedicated yoga instructor at Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica spans nearly 10 years during which time he travelled to India and Thailand to study Eastern medicine and philosophy. In India, Peña trained to become an Ayurveda Health Consultant at Anjali Ayurvedic & Panchakarma Institute. With more than 15 years as a yoga practitioner, Peña finds joy in helping people seek healthier lifestyles. Discovering his passion for health and wellness early on, Peña appreciated the rich natural resources of his home city of Quepos, Costa Rica. After discovering Peninsula Papagayo during a visit to study the Chorotega culture of native Guanacastans, Peña made it his new home. In his spare time, Peña enjoys spending time at the beach, reading and making delicious and creative vegetarian meals.
In November 2018, the Resort unveiled a re-imagined destination spa and fitness centre. The new spa features enhanced design across its 18 treatment rooms and lounge spaces and includes a new Hammam room for Turkish bath experiences and Ayurvedic and sound healing spa treatments. The revitalised fitness and wellness centre offers state-of-the-art Technogym equipment and enhanced exterior space for ocean-view workout classes.
