FLYBE SCOOPS TWO TOP ‘AIRLINE OF THE YEAR’ AWARDS

2012-10-25 — /travelprnews.com/ — Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline and the biggest operator at George Best Belfast City Airport, has won two top travel industry awards, being named ‘Airline of the Year for the UK & Ireland’ in this year’s Travel Agents Choice Awards; and scooped the ‘Best UK Domestic Airline’ accolade at the Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards, beating off stiff competition from BA, Aer Lingus, easyjet and Jet2.

Both awards are given following independent voting by UK travel agents and sponsored by leading travel trade publications to acknowledge star performers in the travel industry across a range of categories.

Commenting on the NI Travel and Tourism Award, Ken Harrower, Flybe Regional Sales Manager said: “It is a great honour to have won this Award, made all the more special because it is decided by our peers across the local travel and tourism industry. We have a great working relationship with the travel trade who play an integral role in driving our corporate and leisure business in Northern Ireland and this award is a terrific endorsement of our successful partnership. Flybe has already received the ‘Best UK Domestic Airline’ award at a gala dinner in the Slieve Donard Hotel in Belfast and will be presented with the ‘Airline of the Year for the UK & Ireland’ award during World Travel Market in November.
