Flybe launches daily flights between Birmingham and Toulouse-Blagnac starting on 30th October

Leading regional airline adds daily flights to South West France as part of extensive 2016-17 Winter schedule and marks Belfast City milestone

DEVON, UK, 2016-Jun-27 — /Travel PR News/ — Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has today (22nd June 2016) announced a brand new route between Birmingham and Toulouse-Blagnac airports with daily flights starting on 30th October, providing the only direct service between the two destinations. Tickets are available for booking now at www.flybe.com with one way fares from £29.99 including taxes and charges.

At the same time, it has marked the 30 year anniversary of its popular Belfast City service that, over the three decades, has covered some 22 million miles – the equivalent distance of travelling almost 50 times to the moon and back, and carried over six million passengers on 100,000 flights.

Vincent Hodder, Flybe’s Chief Revenue Officer, comments: “Today marks a very special milestone in Flybe’s long established commitment to both Birmingham and Belfast City airports – and at the same time we are announcing yet another new route to regional France. Our clear focus is on providing short, affordable regional flights, delivering unrivalled regional connectivity for local communities.

Paul Kehoe, CEO of Birmingham Airport, commenting on the Belfast City anniversary said: “Happy anniversary to Flybe, our largest carrier here at Birmingham Airport.  To operate a reliable and consistent service between Belfast City and Birmingham for the past 30 years is impressive, proving the high demand for this service for both leisure and business travellers.  The airport is proud to have Flybe as a major partner and we look forward to continuing to work together to make its other 31 routes from Birmingham have similar longevity, including of course the Toulouse flights announced just today.”

The city of Toulouse – just a short 1hr 50 minutes’ flight away – is a quintessential example of how modern France marries both the old and the new. It is one of France’s most historic cities featuring medieval architecture and unique pink terracotta buildings. It is also the centre of the European aerospace industry and of leading companies within the technology sector.
