Exeter, England, 2018-Sep-13 — /Travel PR News/ — Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has extended its long-standing sponsorship of Exeter Chiefs rugby club through the 2018/19 season.
For the ninth consecutive year, the distinctive Flybe logo again features on the back of the players’ shirts, the Exeter-based airline having been a Chiefs shirt sponsor since their first year in the top division in 2010. As a result, the logo has been prominent on the team’s shirts during all three Premiership finals, including their Championship winning season in 2017.
The familiar purple Flybe advertising board will also continue to be located around the Sandy Park pitch as the Chiefs look to improve on last year’s runners-up finish.
Roy Kinnear, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, comments: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the Chiefs for another year. Flybe is committed to supporting the local communities we serve and, with just over three miles between Sandy Park and our Exeter HQ, we’re virtually neighbours!
“We all very much look forward to our continued relationship with the team and, in wishing them every future success, to welcoming them on board throughout the upcoming season.”
Chairman and Chief Executive of Exeter Rugby Club, Tony Rowe OBE said: “As a club we’re very proud to have Flybe renew their long-term relationship with us. Since coming on board back in 2010, Flybe has supported us every step of the way and together we have worked very closely in supporting one another’s exposure, not just locally here in Exeter, but also much further afield as well.
“Importantly, it also means we are able to support our ambitions on the pitch and compete with the very best club sides across Europe. We have already enjoyed many highlights of the relationship, including lifting the Premiership for the first time in 2017, and I look forward to many more.”
