2013-06-25 — /travelprnews.com/ — FirstGroup announced today that its annual dinner dance, which was held 21 February, raised more than £4,000 for the ARCHIE Foundation.
The event, which attracted more than 200 guests, was the company’s 76th annual dinner dance and was the 42nd to be organised and hosted by First Aberdeen Director, Joe Mackie.
Joe is also Chairman of the ARCHIE Foundation and next month will celebrate 50 years working for First. He said: “Every year I look forward to organising this event and this year was no exception. It’s fantastic to have such a great turn out and to be able to raise such a generous amount for a charity that is close to my heart.”
He continued: “ARCHIE makes a real difference to the lives of thousands of sick children in the North of Scotland every year.’
David Cunningham, The ARCHIE Foundation’s Chief Executive said: ‘We want to take this opportunity to pay a special tribute to Joe Mackie for organising this dinner for 42 consecutive years, during which time dozens of charities and local organisations have benefited. Joe and the FirstGroup team delivered an exceptionally high quality annual dinner and the £4,000 raised will be used in the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital to help local children when they are sick.”
