First-ever Urban Wine Festival At Oakland To Highlight East Bay and Northern California Wineries

Thousands expected to attend the urban experience at the Oakland waterfront

Oakland, Calif., 2017-May-07 — /Travel PR News/ — Jack London Square is home to the first-ever Urban Wine Festival at the Oakland waterfront this Saturday from Noon to 5 PM.

“Jack London Square is a perfect location for this event because it’s literally in the heart of the Oakland Urban Wine Trail,” said Nick Cattaneo who developed the Festival as Director of Events at Jack London Square. “We will shine a bright light on Oakland and Northern California wineries, mix in good eats, vendors and music to create a unique urban experience.”

There is no admission fee for the Festival. It will feature more than 35 East Bay and Northern California wineries, including those from the coastal, Livermore, Napa Valley and Sonoma wine-growing regions. Additionally, specially brewed ciders and craft beer will be part of the Festival’s offerings.

Music and local-makers exhibiting their wares will round out the event. Two DJs will spin and mix R&B and jazz; a small brass jazz group will play live at the foot of Franklin Street.

Special exhibitor – Tesla, the Bay Area based electric car-maker – will be on hand. Tesla will bring its new custom Airstream trailer mobile exhibit to display vehicle features and explain how their cars work.

Food, like crepes, BBQ, lumpia and empanadas will be available from local vendors, and from the wide variety of restaurants in the Square to meet festivalgoers’ appetites.

This event is free to attend. Tasting tickets for the Urban Wine Festival are $45.00 in advance and $55.00 the day of the event. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local non-profit.
