National Airline and Vodafone Fiji team up to offer new payment option for customers
Nadi, Fiji, 2018-Oct-29 — /Travel PR News/ — Fiji Airways, Fiji’s National Airline and Vodafone Fiji have partnered to offer a new payment option for tickets and other services through M-Paisa. Starting Monday 29th October, the airline’s customers can now access the convenient 24-hour M-Paisa payment system through their mobile phones.
Mr. Andre Viljoen, Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO said: “We are delighted to offer our customers a payment option in the form of M-Paisa to pay for flights, excess baggage and other services on both Fiji Airways and Fiji Link. Through the 24/7 M-Paisa payment system, customers no longer have to queue at banks or wait for our Sales Offices to open. We are very pleased with the way Vodafone Fiji has set up the M-Paisa system, with hundreds of M-Paisa agents available at located all over Fiji.”
The M-Paisa payment works in the following, simple steps:
1. Customers will call the Fiji Airways Reservations Centre on 6720 888 or 3304 388 at any time to book a domestic or an international travel ticket, to buy pre-paid excess baggage or for changes to existing tickets.
2. Once booked, customers will receive a booking reference number known as the ‘PNR’ and the payment amount required.
3. The customer uses the PNR reference number to complete the payment via Vodafone’s M-PAiSA mobile payment platform by dialing *181# to make the payment from anywhere and at any time.
4. Once the payment is done, Fiji Airways is able to confirm the payment through an online M-PAiSA payment portal access and issue the ticket at the same time to an email address of the customer’s choice.
Mr Shailendra Prasad, Head of Vodafone eCommerce and Acting Chief Marketing Officer, said, “We are extremely delighted to work with the national airline to be able to provide this convenient service to the people of Fiji. Many of our mutual customers are travellers on Fiji Airways and Fiji Link. And sometimes this travel may have to be undertaken at short notice, for instance, injuries, illnesses and unfortunately, death. During such times of personal emergency, this service will allow customers to book a ticket and pay for it straightaway, thereby confirming their travel arrangements. Furthermore, the service is available free of charge to the public. The M-PAiSA payment is also cost effective compared to using a credit card wherein you are levied an additional 3% surcharge on top of the ticket price.”
As a promotional launch offer for the next two months ending 29 th December 2018, all Fiji Airways and Fiji Link customers who book and pay for their airline tickets using M-PAiSA will also go into the draw to win 2x Airline tickets to any international destination on the Fiji Airways network and a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
All Vodafone and Inkk mobile users on the Vodafone network registered for the M-PAiSA service are able to use this service. To find out if you are registered for M-PAiSA, simply dial *181# and if you are able to view the M-Paisa menu on your mobile, you are ready to use the service.
