(PRESS RELEASE) SINGAPORE, 2025-Apr-15 — /Travel PR News/ — IHG Hotels & Resorts has released a new report highlighting the substantial positive impact of its community engagement efforts across East Asia & Pacific (EAPAC), with over 334,000 lives improved in 2024 alone. The report illustrates the inspiring range of partnerships developed by IHG teams across 18 countries, reflecting the company’s ongoing mission to deliver “True Hospitality for Good.”

Rooted in IHG’s broader commitment to improve the lives of 30 million people by 2030, this regional milestone is the product of consistent, long-term collaboration between hotel teams and local organizations. Nearly 12,000 IHG colleagues contributed more than 32,000 volunteer hours last year, partnering with 382 community organizations to support impactful causes throughout the region.

Across EAPAC, several standout initiatives underline the power of localized support:

In Australia, IHG hotels joined forces with OzHarvest, donating 120,872 pre-cooked meals during the company’s “Giving for Good” month — the equivalent of one dollar for every room night sold across 60,436 stays.

In Indonesia, the partnership with Saab Shares helped 800 families access healthcare, shelter, and part-time education for children in need.

Japanese colleagues clocked nearly 3.7 million steps during a collective fundraising challenge for TELL Japan, resulting in a donation of 436,780 yen to support mental health and crisis services.

In Vietnam, a collaboration with Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation enabled 3,500 children and youths in Dien Bien province to benefit from scholarships, career workshops, and essential life skills training.

Rajit Sukumaran, SVP & Managing Director, East Asia & Pacific at IHG, expressed pride in the achievements:
“Our teams have made a meaningful difference by dedicating their time and compassion to support those around them. The impact we’ve made—reaching more than 334,000 people—reflects the strength of our partnerships and the commitment of our colleagues. What makes this even more powerful is that 97% of our team members say these activities deepen their connection to IHG’s purpose.”

Sukumaran emphasized that IHG’s community efforts will continue to scale:
“We’re building on this momentum. Strong local leadership and active involvement across all levels of our business will continue to drive our efforts to uplift lives and strengthen communities.”
