Emirates SkyCargo Enhances Freight Connectivity with New Weekly Charters Between Milan and Southeast China

(IN SHORT) Emirates SkyCargo has expanded its freighter operations to enhance connectivity between European destinations and key global markets. Starting Q3 2025, two additional weekly charter freighters will connect Milan and Southeast China via Dubai, while a new stop in Beirut will improve connectivity with Western European markets and the Levant. This expansion, paired with the introduction of Boeing 777 freighters, strengthens Emirates SkyCargo’s role in facilitating global trade, including the transport of fashion, pharmaceuticals, and general cargo, ensuring faster, more efficient logistics across the world.

(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, Germany, 2025-Jun-3 — /Travel PR News/ — Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo division of the world’s largest international airline, has strengthened its freighter connectivity between key European destinations and critical points across its vast global network. As part of its strategic growth, Emirates SkyCargo continues to leverage its geographic advantages to facilitate the efficient flow of trade between the East and West, further solidifying its role as a vital bridge in global commerce.

Starting in Q3 2025, Emirates SkyCargo will introduce two additional weekly charter freighters, enhancing connectivity between Milan and Southeast China via Dubai. This expansion will support the transport of a variety of commodities, including fashion, pharmaceuticals, and general cargo, further cementing Emirates SkyCargo’s position as a key player in the movement of essential goods.

Emirates SkyCargo’s current weekly freighter service linking Dubai World Central (DWC) with Maastricht Aachen Airport (MST) and Zaragoza Airport (ZAZ) will also undergo an enhancement. Beginning in Q3, the freighter will now include a stop in Beirut (BEY), providing greater connectivity to the Levant. Beirut will serve as an important feeder gateway, connecting Western European markets to key regions in the Middle East. With Maastricht being one of Europe’s busiest cargo hubs, particularly for general cargo and pharmaceuticals, and Zaragoza handling significant volumes of fashion and apparel, the new Beirut stop will ensure that these commodities can be transported more directly and efficiently.

Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, commented, “By harnessing the connectivity of our global network, which includes a fleet of over 260 passenger and freighter aircraft, we have the flexibility to ensure trade flows efficiently, even amid market uncertainties. With the arrival of our new Boeing 777 freighters, we are able to deploy them quickly and strategically to meet the growing demand for reliable cargo services. Whether it’s through added frequencies or new route stops, we are committed to evolving our operations and network to support global trade patterns and provide unbeatable service to our customers.”

Emirates SkyCargo’s freighters serve more destinations in Europe than any other region on its network, including two cargo-only destinations, with the service complemented by passenger operations to 40 destinations. The airline’s high-frequency schedule, consisting of 45 freighter flights and 545 passenger flights weekly, ensures that goods from Europe are moved seamlessly and quickly across the globe.

In the past financial year, Emirates SkyCargo transported an average of 6,900 tonnes from Europe every week, supporting key international trade lanes. This included pharmaceuticals from Denmark and Belgium, perishables like fresh salmon from Norway, whisky from Glasgow, automotive shipments from Frankfurt, and a wide range of general cargo. 43% of the volume was transported to the UAE and Middle East, while 32% was carried to the Far East and Australasia, highlighting Emirates SkyCargo’s critical role in connecting European manufacturers, traders, and exporters to markets across the globe.
