Emirates launches Aircrafted 2025 limited edition upcycled luggage collection with 167 pieces made from A380 and 777 materials to benefit children in need

(IN SHORT) Emirates has released the Aircrafted by Emirates 2025 Collection, a second limited run of 167 handmade luggage and bag pieces created from upcycled materials taken from retrofitted A380 and 777 aircraft. Available now at the Emirates Official Store, the items—priced USD 80–350—are expected to sell out quickly. The lineup includes three new trolley bag styles, two backpacks and two handbags, including one made from the fur of an Emirates Captain’s seat. Over 30,000 kg of aircraft materials, from aluminium headrests to premium leather and even seatbelts, have been repurposed. Designed and sewn by a 14-strong in-house tailoring team at Emirates Engineering, the initiative’s profits largely benefit children via the Emirates Airline Foundation; the 2023 launch raised over USD 17,000. The project ties into Emirates’ massive retrofit programme begun in August 2022 to upgrade 219 aircraft, add nearly 4,000 Premium Economy seats, refurbish 728 First Class suites and refresh over 5,000 Business Class seats—underscoring the airline’s sustainability and customer-experience commitments.

(PRESS RELEASE) DUBAI, UAE, 2025-Jul-22 — /Travel PR News/ — Riding the momentum of its 2023 debut sellout, Emirates is unveiling the second, strictly limited Aircrafted by Emirates 2025 Collection—167 one-of-a-kind luggage pieces and bags fashioned from upcycled components of retrofitted aircraft. The range is on sale now at the Emirates Official Store and is forecast to disappear from shelves in just days. As with the first drop, which generated more than USD 17,000, the majority of proceeds will go to children in need through the Emirates Airline Foundation, giving customers a chance to shop sustainably and support a worthy cause.

This edition puts the spotlight on three brand-new trolley bag designs, inspired by the runaway bestseller of the original collection. Style-savvy travellers can also choose from two contemporary backpacks and two handbags—one crafted using the fur from an Emirates Captain’s seat. Each handmade piece is priced between USD 80 and USD 350, making aviation heritage surprisingly accessible.

Sourced from 63 Emirates A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft undergoing retrofit, over 30,000 kilograms of materials have been salvaged and repurposed so far. Aluminium headrests, supple leather from First and Business Class seats, and even the sofas from the A380 onboard lounge find new life as statement travel gear. Every fabric is commercially laundered, then meticulously deep-cleaned, leather-conditioned and disinfected by hand before being cut and sewn. New linings and sturdy zippers are added, and select bags flaunt authentic Emirates seatbelts repurposed as straps.

All items are conceived and produced by Emirates’ own team of tailors inside a dedicated cabin workshop at the Emirates Engineering facility in Dubai. The 14 specialists—officially Engineering Maintenance Assistants—usually mend tears and wear across the airline’s vast fleet interiors. Thanks to the runaway success of Aircrafted by Emirates and its children’s offshoot, Aircrafted KIDS, the entire team is now devoted full time to the initiative.

The Emirates Retrofit Project
Launched in August 2022, Emirates’ multi-billion-dollar fleet retrofit is the largest known project of its kind, aimed squarely at elevating the customer experience. Managed entirely in-house by Emirates Engineering, the programme will refresh the interiors of 219 Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, install nearly 4,000 brand-new Premium Economy seats, refurbish 728 First Class suites and upgrade more than 5,000 Business Class seats to a fresh look and feel.
