(PRESS RELEASE) Dubai, UAE, 2024-Dec-13 — /Travel PR News/ — Starting March 30, 2025, Emirates will expand its operations between Dubai and Melbourne by introducing a third daily non-stop flight. This service will be operated by a newly retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER, equipped with Emirates’ next-generation Premium Economy and updated Business Class cabins.
Emirates currently operates two daily non-stop flights using Airbus A380s and one additional service connecting Dubai to Melbourne via Singapore. However, the Singapore-Melbourne route will be discontinued as Emirates introduces this new direct service, enhancing convenience for passengers flying between the two cities.
The newly scheduled flights, EK404 and EK405, will operate as follows: EK404 will depart from Dubai at 21:15, arriving in Melbourne at 17:40 the following day, while EK405 will leave Melbourne at 23:55 and land in Dubai at 07:00 the next morning. This added frequency not only provides passengers with more flexible travel options but also offers enhanced connectivity via Dubai to 27 European cities, including major destinations like London, Paris, and Frankfurt.
The retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER will feature 8 First Class Suites, 40 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 256 Economy Class seats. Emirates’ Premium Economy, recently recognized as ‘Best in Class’ at the 2024 Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards, offers passengers a 38-inch pitch and luxurious leather seats. Business Class passengers will enjoy 20.7-inch wide seats that recline to a flat bed and feature a personal mini-bar, dining table, multiple charging outlets, and a 23-inch HD screen. The Business Class cabin will also include a small bar for mid-flight snacks and refreshments.
Emirates’ ongoing commitment to Australia is evident in its efforts to restore pre-pandemic flight capacity. The airline recently reinstated a second daily service to Perth, further strengthening trade links and providing increased connectivity to destinations like London, Dublin, and Rome. Emirates also reintroduced its Adelaide services in October, enhancing tourism and business connections between South Australia and the UAE.
With 77 weekly services to Australia’s five key gateways, Emirates continues to bolster its operations, offering smooth, multi-daily connections that promote tourism, stimulate economic growth, and attract business investments. The airline’s strategic presence in Australia extends beyond flights, with significant investments in sports and arts sponsorships, such as the Australian Open and Collingwood Football Club.
Emirates also plays a vital role in facilitating trade, with the capacity to transport over 2,350 tonnes of cargo weekly between Australia and global markets. Through its extensive partnership with Qantas, Emirates provides customers access to over 120 codeshare destinations, further cementing its integral role in Australia’s aviation landscape.
