This service, allowing passengers to select their hot main meal between 14 days and 24 hours before departure, ensures that travelers receive their preferred dishes. Initially launched on the busiest routes including Hamburg, the pre-order option is now accessible on over 100 routes worldwide.

Since its introduction, more than 135,000 pre-orders have been fulfilled on over 30,000 flights, with daily pre-orders exceeding 400 meals. Business Class passengers can view the menu and select their meals through emirates.de or the Emirates app, choosing from regionally inspired dishes and special meals catering to dietary, religious, or nutritional preferences.

The culinary offerings for Business Class passengers on flights between Germany and Dubai include grilled veal chop with green pepper sauce, roast chicken with thyme and garlic, and fish tahta with pan-fried grouper in Emirati spices. Emirates also offers over 300 vegan dishes, such as roasted cauliflower with ancient grains and ragout of Asian tofu and shitake mushrooms with glass noodles.

Pre-orders are integrated with AI-supported data tracking customer preferences and cabin crew information, optimizing menu planning and food loading on aircraft. On board, cabin crew use a specially developed app to view and serve the pre-selected meals, enhancing the dining experience.

Beyond in-flight dining, Emirates provides comprehensive digital services for customer convenience, including online check-in, digital boarding passes, itinerary management, advance access to digital menus, Skywards frequent flyer registration, and personal playlist creation for in-flight entertainment, all synchronized with the Emirates app.

In addition to check-in via website and app, the option of a digital boarding pass and itinerary management, Emirates‘ customers can access digital menus in advance, register for the Skywards frequent flyer programme or create a personal playlist of films, series and music tracks for in-flight entertainment ahead of their flights, which is synchronised with the personal screen using the app.
