EASYJET STATEMENT ON ISS AND GLASS LEWIS REPORTS

2012-07-30 — /travelprnews.com/ — easyJet welcomes the recommendations from the proxy advisory services ISS and Glass Lewis that shareholders vote against the resolution to remove Sir Mike Rake at the company’s forthcoming EGM. The majority of easyJet’s institutional shareholders subscribe to one or other of these bodies.

In their report, Glass Lewis said:

“..we question whether removing chairman Rake from the board is necessary or appropriate …..[it] would be an unnecessary and unwarranted disruption that would ultimately prove detrimental to the Company.”

Shareholders are demonstrating their support for easyJet’s Chairman, illustrated by the fact that seven of the company’s largest shareholders, who between them account for 26.5% of the company’s shares, had already expressed their commitment to vote against the resolution when the circular was published on 18 July 2012.

easyJet encourages all shareholders to demonstrate their support for the Board.
