The newly released AI helper allows travel professionals to quickly import passenger details by copying and pasting information from external sources such as emails, spreadsheets or documents directly into the Dolphin platform. The system then automatically interprets the content and maps the data to the correct fields within the booking system, eliminating the need to re-enter information manually.

The feature is the first in a series of planned artificial intelligence capabilities being developed for the Dolphin platform. It follows the recent rollout of the company’s redesigned front-end interface, which has already been made available to selected users.

The AI helper is designed to process unstructured data and recognise different formats used to describe the same information. For example, variations such as “DOB,” “date of birth,” or “birth date” are interpreted as the same field. The tool can also standardise multiple date formats—such as “15Jul75,” “15/07/75,” or “15 July 1975”—and populate them accurately in the correct system fields.

The system supports a wide range of traveller information, including names, dates of birth, passport details and nationality. By automatically interpreting and transferring this data into the appropriate fields, the technology significantly reduces the time required for administrative data entry while also lowering the risk of human error.

The launch marks the beginning of a broader programme to introduce AI-driven automation into the Dolphin system, with additional features currently under development to further streamline travel agency operations.

Chuck Richardson said the company adopted an AI-focused strategy last year aimed at integrating artificial intelligence into both its internal operations and product capabilities. The introduction of the AI helper, he noted, represents an early step in delivering tools that help automate routine tasks for travel agents, tour operators and travel management companies.
