In FY 2023–24, dnata handled 2.9 million tonnes of cargo across 90+ airports worldwide.

(PRESS RELEASE) DUBAI, 2025-Apr-14 — /Travel PR News/ — As aviation and logistics leaders convene in Dubai for the World Cargo Symposium, dnata has unveiled three major cargo infrastructure projects in the Netherlands, UAE, and Iraq—investments collectively exceeding US$ 110 million and aimed at enhancing automation, operational scalability, and sustainability across its global network.

All three upcoming facilities integrate cutting-edge technologies to minimise manual handling, boost cargo visibility, and support advanced automation systems. Designed with modular and eco-efficient architecture, these projects reinforce dnata’s commitment to long-term operational excellence and environmental responsibility.

• Amsterdam, Netherlands: dnata is investing over US$ 70 million to develop dnata Cargo City Amsterdam, a state-of-the-art, fully automated cargo terminal at Schiphol Airport. Opening in July 2025, the 61,000 m² facility will have the capacity to handle more than 850,000 tonnes of cargo per year. The terminal will utilise automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), automated guided vehicles (AGVs), smart gates, 3D scanning, and a forklift guidance system for optimal efficiency. Real-time operations will be coordinated through dnata’s centralised Cargo Control Centre.
• Erbil, Iraq: A US$ 15 million investment will support the construction of a new 20,000 m² cargo terminal at Erbil International Airport, also slated to open in July 2025. This development will triple dnata’s capacity in Iraq to 66,000 tonnes annually. It will feature dnata’s OneCargo cloud-based system, streamlining functions such as ULD tracking, safety and quality monitoring, and operations reporting.
• Dubai, UAE: dnata Logistics is advancing a US$ 27 million cargo centre in Dubai South, spanning 57,000 m², expected to be completed by end of 2025. Designed to process up to 400,000 tonnes of cargo per year, the temperature-controlled warehouse will feature high-density storage, truck bays, and optimised racking layouts to enhance throughput and service delivery.

“These projects represent a fundamental shift towards greater traceability, performance gains, and operational resilience,” added Sauvé-Hopkins.
