Expansion represents an investment of US$ 2 million and creates 25 new, local jobs with the company

(IN SHORT) Global air and travel services provider dnata has expanded its operations to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in the USA. This US$ 2 million investment will create over 25 new local jobs. Lufthansa, operating five weekly flights between RDU and Frankfurt, is dnata’s inaugural customer at the airport. This expansion brings dnata’s services to 28 airports across the USA, offering ground handling, logistics, and cargo services to over 70 airline customers. In the last financial year, dnata handled over 60,000 flights, 18 million passengers, and 200,000 tonnes of cargo in the USA.

(PRESS RELEASE) Raleigh-Durham, USA, 2024-Jun-19— /Travel PR News/ — In a significant move to enhance its presence in the United States, dnata, a leading global air and travel services provider, has launched operations at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). This expansion, representing an investment of US$ 2 million, will create over 25 new local jobs, further cementing dnata’s commitment to growth and development in the region. With this addition, dnata now operates at 28 airports across the USA.

The first client at RDU is Lufthansa, Germany’s flagship carrier, which runs a five-weekly service between Raleigh-Durham and Frankfurt using an Airbus A330-300. David Barker, dnata’s Regional CEO for Airport Operations – Americas, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion: “We are excited to add Raleigh-Durham to our growing network in the USA. In addition to Lufthansa, dnata provides a comprehensive range of ground handling, logistics, and cargo services to over 70 airline customers throughout the USA. With a workforce of 3,300 customer-oriented employees, dnata turned around over 60,000 flights, handled more than 18 million passengers, and processed 200,000 tonnes of cargo in the financial year 2023-24.

Established in 1959, dnata is renowned for its quality and safe ground handling, cargo, travel, catering, and retail services across 30 countries and six continents. In the financial year 2023-24, dnata’s dedicated teams handled over 778,000 aircraft turns, moved 2.9 million tonnes of cargo, served 123 million meals, and achieved a total transaction value (TTV) of US$ 2.4 billion in travel services.
