Discover More Fun in the Philippines at PTM2012

Bangkok, 2012-07-19 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Department of Tourism and Tourism Promotions Board of the Philippines have created exclusive tour itineraries for delegates attending the PATA Travel Mart (PTM2012) in Manila, Philippines, September 25-28. The tours are either complimentary or discounted. Each one gives an in-depth insight into the natural resources, heritage, culture – and fun – of the Philippines.

PATA CEO, Martin J Craigs, said: “It is exciting for PATA to return to Manila, the birthplace of the first ever PATA Travel Mart in 1978. PTM is a great platform to showcase its national campaign, It’s more fun in the Philippines. After the Mart, we want buyers, sellers and media get out and about and experience the many wonderful things that the Philippines have to offer.”

Delegates can enjoy a pre-complimentary half-day tour to visit Old and New Manila. On theOld Manila tour delegates can visit Rizal Park, historic Fort Santiago, a Spanish bastion which became famous during World War II as a prison and which contains the memorabilia of the country’s national hero, Dr Jose Rizal; Intramuros, the original city founded by the Spaniards centuries ago; and the National Museum, which features natural history exhibits and pre-historic Philippine ethnic collections.

The New Manila tour will visit Nayong Pilipino for a showcase of different breeds of orchids and to watch a cultural presentation by the lagoon featuring Muslim dances. After which, the tour proceeds to a tour of New Manila and the business district, Makati. After that, the New Manila tour visits Ayala Museum, which houses handcrafted dioramas which chronicle Philippine history from the time of the earliest Filipino settlements to the Spanish and American colonial periods, and the national struggle for independence.
