Delaware North rebrands its new hotel and gaming venue in Islandia, N.Y. into Jake’s 58 Hotel & Casino

New name and brand reflect hospitality company Delaware North’s operation and community connection

ISLANDIA, N.Y., 2017-Feb-10 — /Travel PR News/ — Delaware North, one of the largest privately-held hospitality and food service companies in the world, has announced its new hotel and gaming venue in the Village of Islandia, N.Y., on Long Island will be called Jake’s 58 Hotel & Casino.

The new name and brand, which take effect Feb. 15, come as Delaware North prepares to open the first phase of the new gaming venue, targeted for later this month. The hotel, which Delaware North acquired in August 2016, has been known as the Islandia Marriott Long Island.

“The new name is symbolic of Delaware North’s commitment to and enthusiasm for bringing a first-rate entertainment and hotel property to Islandia,” said Chuck Kilroy, general manager of Jake’s 58 Hotel & Casino. “Our renovations to create a destination gaming venue are in full swing, and we are also committed to keeping the hotel a preferred lodging option for travelers to Long Island.”

The initial opening will feature the debut of about 250 video lottery terminal (VLT) machines. Delaware North expects the full 1,000 VLTs to be operational by summer 2017. Renovations to the hotel’s former banquet and conference space and indoor pool to accommodate the full gaming venue, as well as an expansion of the Bistro 58 restaurant, will continue this winter and spring. Delaware North is also planning upgrades to most of the hotel’s 227 rooms.

The name “Jake’s” is a nod to the Jacobs family, which for more than 100 years has owned and led Delaware North. With its longtime presence in the industry, Delaware North prides itself on providing the very best in food and entertainment at high-profile places such as gaming facilities, sports venues, airports, national and state parks, fine-dining restaurants and resorts around the world. The “58” is representative of the closest exit, number 58, on the Long Island Expressway.

In conjunction with the renaming, Delaware North will soon launch a new website for the hotel and gaming venue at www.Jakes58.com.

Delaware North’s enhancement of the hotel’s food and beverage operation, in addition to the planned expansion of the Bistro 58 restaurant, includes menu upgrades in the restaurant and in the hotel’s room-service offerings. Led by Executive Chef Brandon Cintorino, redesigned menus will keep current guest-favorite dishes while also adding more contemporary selections such as shareable plates and hand-crafted cocktails. On the gaming floor, a coffee café and bar and grab-and-go food stations will be offered.

As part of its ongoing development of the property, Delaware North is upgrading the hotel’s security system and installing improved fencing around a portion of the hotel’s parking lot. The company’s core business systems and processes will also be integrated into the venue’s operations, including its highly regarded customer service program, GuestPath®, and its environmental management program, GreenPath®.

Delaware North is developing and will operate the gaming venue for Suffolk Regional Off-Track Betting Corp. (SROTB).
