HEBRON, Ky., 2019-Sep-25 — /Travel PR News/ — Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport has passed one of New York City’s airports to become the seventh-largest cargo airport by volume in the United States.
CVG passed John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, according to federal statistics.
Carriers serving CVG carried 104,569 tons of cargo during August, down 0.9 percent from the same month in 2018. Year to date, cargo volume is up nearly 2 percent.
Cargo-related operations make up the majority of landed weight at CVG. About 621 million pounds of the airport’s landed weight came from cargo compared with 464 million pounds of non-cargo. Overall, landed weight is up 3.6 percent year to date.
