Creepy Hollow, Eerie Shores Among Spooky Stops at Boo at the Zoo

Powell, OH – 2012-10-2 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium invites ghouls and boys of all ages to cackle and quiver during Boo at the Zoo, a merry-not-scary Halloween celebration presented by Diet Pepsi, Oct. 19-21 and Oct. 26-28.

This year’s event features special guests, the Avengers, who will star in live shows of heroic proportions each night. Moshi Monsters will also be lurking on Zoo grounds for meet and greets.

For a spooky start, stroll through Pumpkin Plaza before heading to Jungle Jack-O-Lanterns Landing to visit animal friends and venture through the Little Boo Mansion and Little Boo Maze. All of the bone rattling rides will be open for these two weekends of “spook”tacular fun before closing for season. Other rides, including the Seven Seas SCARE-ousel and the Creepy Hollow Express Haunted Train Ride, will also be open weather permitting.

Find more spooky yet kooky fun at trick-or-treat stations located throughout the Zoo, character caravans and Animals on Safari Shows. Columbus Zoo animals will also join the fun on Saturdays during Pumpkin Smash, an enrichment activity.

Make the day especially “terror”ific by making reservations for the Avengers Brunch featuring Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and the Hulk. Guests enjoy a kid-friendly brunch, up-close animal encounters, private viewing of the show, photos with the Avengers, face painting and caricature. Tickets are $20 for members and $30 for non-members. Tickets are limited and can be purchased online at www.columbuszoo.org.

Most Boo at the Zoo attractions are included with paid admission and are free to Columbus Zoo members. Hours of operation during these weekends are as follows: Fridays 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturdays 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Children are welcome to dress in costume; however, only adults accompanied by a child or children under 13-years-old will be permitted to wear costumes that do not cover their faces while on Zoo grounds.
